The Puerto Rican Superstar Claps Back to the Homeland Security Secretary's Immigration Threats Ahead of the Big Game Performance

During his first speech as host of the first episode of SNL, Bad Bunny addressed recent comments made by Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem regarding his upcoming 2026 Super Bowl show.

The 31-year-old Puerto Rican singer quipped that "everyone" was excited about his planned performance, "even Fox News."

“It’s good to be back. This is my second time hosting and my fourth time being here,” he said. “I’ll be performing at the Super Bowl halftime. I’m thrilled, and I believe everyone else is too.”

A short video clip came after featuring Fox News contributors seeming to endorse the artist for the presidency.

A Message for the Latino Community

During his monologue, Bad Bunny spoke in Spanish to speak to "Latinos everywhere across the globe and here in the U.S.."

He expressed that being chosen for the halftime show was not just a personal achievement but an accomplishment for the entire community, showing that the Latino contribution to this country will never be erased.

Then, switching to English, he remarked, "For those who didn’t catch that, you’ve got a few months to pick up some Spanish."

Political Criticism and Noem's Comments

The announcement of Bad Bunny’s halftime show caused outrage among right-wing commentators, including Kristi Noem.

During a podcast appearance, Noem stated that just U.S. citizens ought to go to the upcoming game and threatened that immigration officers "would be present throughout" the event.

She also claimed the NFL would "not be able to sleep at night" for selecting Bad Bunny.

U.S. Exclusion and Recent Success

Earlier, the singer explained that concerns of ICE raids at his live events led to him excluding the U.S. from his upcoming global tour.

Recently concluding a lengthy concert series in his home territory, which reportedly attracted around 600,000 fans.
