The children's author David Walliams parted ways with longtime publisher.

Prolific writer for children and entertainer David Walliams has been dropped by his publisher HarperCollins UK, as confirmed by the firm.

A representative for the company said: "Upon deliberation, and following the appointment of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing future works by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the move was reached following an review of allegations of inappropriate behaviour involving female individuals.

The firm did not confirm the specific rationale behind the move, stating: "It is not our policy to discuss internal matters."

A Highly Successful Literary Career

Walliams is one of the UK's most best-selling authors for kids, boasting over in excess of 60 million copies worldwide in dozens of tongues.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins in 2008.

A number of his works, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into small-screen adaptations.

His bibliography includes more than 40 books combined, which features a holiday title named *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins in October.

A Dual Career

He first rose to fame on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE several years ago for his services to charity and the arts.

The publisher's decision comes after the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO this past October.
