Renowned Star The actor Pat Finn, Famed For Roles in The Middle and Friends, Has Died at Age 60.
US entertainer Pat Finn, who appeared in popular TV shows including Friends, "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has succumbed aged 60.
The comedic improv actor died at home in LA on Monday following treatment for a cancer diagnosis since 2022, according to news outlets.
"Pat Finn never met a stranger - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his loved ones said in a message.
They added that he had "embraced life completely - with happiness and energy".
An Extensive Television Career
His initial on-screen part was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he appeared as the brother of the main character.
He also had a recurring role on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.
He appeared as Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in the late 90s, playing a party host who would assign burdensome jobs to his guests.
Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, he made guest appearances on a variety of well-known programs, such as:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House, M.D.
Finn was perhaps best known for portraying Bill Norwood in "The Middle", starring in eight seasons of the show between 2011 and 2018.
His work in movies are It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
A Life in Improv
Beyond his acting parts, Finn was an improv performer and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.
He was involved with a six-person improv troupe named Beer Shark Mice.
"Finn taught, supported, and inspired countless students during his career and you'd be hard-pressed to find a person anyplace who has anything negative to say about him," his relatives stated.
Paying homage, fellow actor actor Richard Kind remarked there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, making those around him better and funnier. An excellent dad and person," he shared online.
Pat Finn is leaves behind his partner Donna, three children, and his parents and siblings.
