Helicopter Spirals Out of Control into Palm Fronds at Popular Southern California Shoreline
A chopper flying above a well-attended southern California coastline unexpectedly started spinning uncontrollably, finally descending rapidly and plunging into a row of palm trees as beachgoers observed.
Videos uploaded on the internet show the aircraft beginning to twirl over Huntington Beach then descending near the edge of the shore, where it gets stuck among palm trees and a steps close to the coastal road.
Rescue Operation Information
Local firefighters stated five persons were transported to a medical facility comprising two individuals who were in the chopper and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” following the accident on that day.
Three individuals on the street were injured. Information on their condition were not immediately available.
What led to the incident was still under investigation.
