Ex- National Football League Player Antonio Brown Enters Not Guilty Response in Murder Attempt Charges

Ex- NFL star Antonio Brown is returning to Miami to confront an murder attempt charge stemming from a shooting that occurred in May, with his lawyer entering a innocent plea on his behalf.

Jail documents in Essex County, New Jersey, reveal that Brown was released on Tuesday early for his relocation to Florida. Brown, among the most famous athletes in the NFL, had waived extradition to Florida from New Jersey, where he was taken after being apprehended in Dubai.

Brown’s lawyer, Mark Eiglarsh, stated in an communication that he has previously lodged a written not guilty response to the murder attempt allegation. Brown could be in a Miami hearing as early as Wednesday morning for a bond session, Eiglarsh stated.

As per his apprehension document, Brown is accused of grabbing a handgun from a security employee after a celebrity fighting bout in May and shooting two rounds at a man he had confronted with before. The reported victim, Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu, stated to investigators that one shot scraped his throat.

Eiglarsh said that Brown was only defending himself from Nantambu.

“The measures he was compelled to take were purely in defense against the alleged individual’s hostile conduct. Brown was targeted that evening and acted within his legal right to safeguard himself,” Eiglarsh commented.

Brown was not promptly arrested because initially police did not consider Nantambu as a victim. It wasn’t until later in May that Nantambu delivered a complete statement about the incident to officers and named Brown as the gunman, the document says.

Based on his social media posts, Brown had been living in the city of Dubai for several months. In a post after the confrontation, Brown claimed he was defending himself because he was “jumped by several persons who attempted to steal my valuables and bring bodily damage to me.”

A category two attempted murder charge in the state of Florida carries a maximum 15-year prison penalty and up to a ten thousand dollar fine in the event of a finding.

Brown has dealt with numerous court challenges over the period. He earlier had been charged of battery of a vehicle employee, several family violence charges, inability to pay parental support and other occurrences.

In a 2021 season contest with his team against the opponents, Brown took off his shirt, shoulder pads and handwear and ran off the stadium, leading to his release by the team and practically ending his professional tenure.

Brown, who completed a dozen years in the league, was an elite player who passed most of his time with his team. During his professional life, Brown had 928 grabs for over 12,291 yards, the 28th most of history. He was a seven-time all-star pick.
