Assassin's Creed Introduces Unexpected Attack on Titan Event for Thanksgiving
In a bizarre partnership that breaks conventional predictions, Ubisoft has unveiled an digital crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, providing no-cost bonus story content for Shadows players.
Strange Mission Uncovered
According to the authorized announcement, "An unusual encounter pulls heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a original mission, where rumors of forbidden practices and monstrous changes reverberate through the obscurity." The storyline presents a "oddly attired woman named Ada" who tasks the pair with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a key location from Attack on Titan—to save her friend from a clandestine group.
The questline focuses on "bizarre tests and a terrifying enemy" and is accessible to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Familiar Settings and Metamorphoses
The teaser features the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was formerly where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through eras. The trailer ends with a dramatic scene showing a character, probably the hostage, morphing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Items and Extra Material
Players who successfully complete the quest will acquire an exclusive katana together with several objects hidden throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes premium Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-themed costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Special weapons
- Survey Corps steed
Third Free Story Update
This update also introduces the game's third complimentary story addition, titled "A Puzzlement." This humorous mission pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange distinctive skills: Naoe introduces a theatrical version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-fatal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also features a new environmental puzzle that may eventually explain some lingering questions from the main storyline.
